Graduation Plans
- Most students need to pass ALL classes Quarter 4 to meet the requirements of their graduation plan. Each student has worked with the counselor to create a graduation plan. The senior must complete ALL items in their plan.
- All Community High School credit recovery paperwork (Edmentum final grade reports and Seminar Attendance Verification forms & essays) are due by FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2026.
Graduation Speech Try Outs
Seniors are encouraged to apply to give a speech at the graduation ceremony.
- Students interested in trying out must see Mrs. Sowinski to get added to the tryout schedule and receive a packet of information and to schedule a tryout. The packet includes resources to help students write a commencement speech.
- The deadline to sign up is MAY 1, 2026.
- Auditions will be held on MAY 12, 2026 in room 203.
- Seniors who have already graduated in the 2025-2026 school year are welcome to tryout. Please email Mrs. Sowinski, [email protected] , if you would like to sign up.
Graduation Fees
Senior Graduation Fees must be paid by Friday, May 9, 2026. The fee is $65 and includes:
- Cap & Gown
- Diploma with cover
- Senior Breakfast
- Professional Photographer
Submit payment, along with the order form, to Mrs. Tourtillott in the main office.
- Graduation fees can be paid in cash in the main office or online with a check or credit card.
- Go to Community High Payment. A 3% fee will be charged to use the online service.
Fees & Fines
All fees and fines (books, activity, grad fees) must be paid in full by May 18, 2026.
All fees and fines must be paid in the main office using cash only. You will NOT receive your cap & gown or diploma until you pay your senior fees and outstanding fines. This includes all textbook fines from your previous high school, lunch balances and unpaid student activity fees.
Senior Exams
Friday, May 15 (Hours 4-6) and Monday, May 18 (Hours 1-3). Students will be released after their 3rd hour on Monday.
Senior Breakfast & Awards Ceremony:
Wednesday, May 27 at 9:30 am in the Hatherly cafeteria – Families welcome!
Graduation Ceremony Rehearsal & BBQ:
Sterling Heights High School Performing Arts Center
Friday, May 29, 2026, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
- Students will receive their cap and gown and six tickets for guests to attend the ceremony
- After rehearsal, graduates will walk through an elementary school take a group picture and then return to Hatherly.
- At Hatherly students will be treated to a BBQ lunch and some special treats.
